Like other similar programs, the rogue is distributed through the use of trojans that hit on the computer from fake online malware scanners. These scanners will report that your computer is infected and offers to download a special program - antivirus to disinfect your computer. This "antivirus" is a trojan.

When the trojan is running, it performs the following:

- first, download and install CleanUp Antivirus on the infected computer

- second, creates an entry in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Run key of Windows registry, thus providing automatic start the fake antivirus application each time you turn the computer

- third, create a lot of fake "infected" files

After this, the trojan will run CleanUp Antivirus. Immediately, this fake antivirus starts to scan the computer and mark the files that were created by the trojan-installer as viruses, worms, trojans and other malicious programs. Of course, the scan and its results are a fraud. The rogue uses the false scan results as method to trick you into purchase the full version of this program.

In addition to the above-described, CleanUp Antivirus can block the Task Manager, and most antivirus and antispyware programs, as well as show a variety of false warnings and alerts. A few examples:

Warning
Warning! Virus detected

System alert!
Suspicious software which may be malicious has been
detected on your PC. Click here to remove this threat
immediately using CleanUp Antivirus.

As the scan results, all these messages - a fake, so you can safely ignore them.

How to remove CleanUp Antivirus

As stated above, this fake antivirus program gets on the computer with the help of trojan, which is difficult to remove. To manually disinfect your computer you need to be able to work with the Registry Editor, to know how to delete registry keys, as well as how to find and remove hidden files. This is a rather difficult task, so I suggest you use the CleanUp Antivirus removal instruction, where the step by step shows how to remove this malware using only free software.
